Everybody handles them differently.
Some get intoxicated.
Some hurt themselves, blame themselves.
Some take it out on others.
Some are able to find peace with in the situation and be friends with their ex, though the pain is still there.
Some lock themselves away for awhile, too afraid to come out of hiding thinking they might get hurt or shatter.
Some turn to friends for help, only sometimes being able to move on.
Some become stronger, but colder. They hide the pain, and tell people to go away they don't need help.
In the end they find love, true love, not just a façade that's there to make you think you're safe, that no one can hurt you.
The brain must make fear within itself so it can learn to overcome mental injuries that others will cause, you just have to find that voice inside that tells you,
"Don't be afraid, you're strong, You are safe."
I like to think that voice is your soulmate, and the fear you have is a way your mind tells you they'll be there to save you soon. The longer you feel the fear the farther your soulmate is from you, it could take years or days for them to get to you. That doesn't mean you can't handle your feelings differently from somebody else, you must handle how you feel in your own way. It's how you tell yourself you are human.
