It wasn't until the movie ended when Lux's first whimper sounded out. Her arms tightened around mine and she pressed her face into my bicep. Her legs started to kick and she whispered out, "No, per favore. (No, please.)" Her nails started to dig into my skin, so I placed a hand to her cheek to calm her. That was the wrong move because she swung out and screamed, "Scappa! Lasciami solo! (Get away! Leave me alone!)" Her eyes were squeezed shut as she thrashed around in the bed.
