Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase were best friends during elementary school. They couldn't stay away from each other, hanging out almost everyday. They both come from different pasts, Annabeth being the rich daughter of Athena and Fredrick Chase, and Percy being the poor son of Sally and Poseidon Jackson and this doesn't effect their friendship. But when middle school hits Annabeth develops a big crush on Luke Castellan, the quarterback. She ditched Percy and became the head cheerleader to get closer with Luke. Annabeth grows in popularity while Percy stayed at the bottom. A year later Percy wad arrested on an account of murder after which Annabeth completely shunned him. During high school Percy's mother and step father died leaving him to have to care for his little siblings Tyson and Estelle. Percy moved in with Charles Beckendorf and they form the most feared and hated biker gang in the city The Half-Bloods, a group of troubled people who grew up with only one parent or none because they were abandoned at a young age. When Annabeth figures out about this she is mad at Percy for turning his back on everything. When they get paired together for a project and they learn more about each other and get closer. But Annabeth's abusive boyfriend stops them from seeing each other. Percy finds out about this and starts a gang war between the Half-Bloods and the rich kids.
