Arissa lives in the small town of Carider. It's her home, or so she thinks. Soon Arissa finds out that the people she called her parents aren't her real ones. They are her assigned protectors until she turns 16. Arissa is then shipped off to a boarding school. There she finds that she is not human, she is a supernatural.
As Arissa struggles to find out who she is, she discovers powers inside her, powers she thought it was impossible to have.
