Butters x Reader - Is it too late?

Butters makes a promise of coming back and something more before he moves away to a place unknown to you. Several years later, Butters stops replying to your messages, calls and letters but you still have a little bit of hope that he still remembers you. However, dreadful news occurs and you find yourself asking it's ok to move on or to still have hope that Butters will come back to you and fulfill both of his promises.
