Alfie is a cop programmed to save lives in perilous situations where human lives would be at risk. He has always been successful until one afternoon where he loses a case and a human child dies. This event causes a riptide of riots and company issues, where a CEO must decide whether to save the androids he cares so much for at the risk of his own life or stick to a society that only values human life.

After being critically incapacitated in action, AX-15 was rendered unfit for service and was practically thrown out onto the streets. However, the android had been discovered by a smooth-talking mercenary that still found use for the combat androids' capabilities and given him the new name of Axis. The two go on to become the most feared hitmen in the underground, going by the name "Machina Mortis".
