In a world with fire-eaters, shapeshifters, faeries, and other such creatures, being born of more than one species is illegal. But everyday, it happens. And everyday, their parents live in fear. Fear of what might happen to them.
Angela, a girl of but eighteen years, knows none of this. She grew up with loving parents, a sister, and a safe life. But one day, after a horrific event at school, she begins to question who she is. Taking off, away from her old life to start anew, she meets Logan, a man who says he knows what she is, and that he can help. He takes her to his family, and teaches her about the Netherrealms, the world that exists within ours. Does Angela take this seriously? And if she does believe, what does that mean?
