Galen lives in a small village, surrounded by The Forest. It is an evil place for humans, though the Forest Lords roam there freely. His village is poor and simple and Galen has learned to keep his head down, especially around Forest Lords. When Galen accidentally defiles a sacred tree, he is chased out of his village, on the run and hunted. When he and his best friend, Aeliana chance upon a small castle, overgrown and nearly in ruins, his entire perspective changes. Things that once seemed simple truths now seem blatantly false. They discover a dark secret about both humans and Lords, one that may just change the fate of the entire land.
