1312: the mythical kingdom of Eyacia. Young King Raimon, aged twenty-four, has just been crowned when his mother tells him of a childhood betrothal made two decades ago. The previous King signed a treaty with the neighbouring kingdom stating that Raimon would marry and unite their families. 

The Kingdom of Jadefall. Known as the Jade Princesses, clever, sensible Ophelia and wild, unpredictable Natalia are informed by their father that one of them must marry the new king of their closest ally, Eyacia. The problem is that the treaty left out a major detail: which daughter would marry Raimon?
