It's been six years since Praimfaya, the nuclear destruction that ended the world for a second time. 

Ari is again stuck in space on the Ring, the only thing that is left of the Ark. Octavia has become the red queen of those who survived in the bunker, showing her role as leader in one of the most brutal ways possible. Clarke has managed to survive the death wave with a partner of her own. 

Those in space have become closer than ever but once everyone is on the ground again they will continue to be tested by a new prisoner ship full of criminals visiting Earth for the first time ever and who want the only surviving patch land left on Earth.
