Kendel Maher was the definition of outcast. A silent spunky ginger girl with a head full of thoughts she'd never put into words. She lived in a crowded dirty group home in New York City, filled to the brim with junkie's kids and orphans. All this changes when, on the way home from school she's mugged on the street. Well, almost mugged. Now a newly awoken magician Kendel is sent to train with other new magic wielders, trained by the annoyingly arrogant young prodigy Ashton Colt who's more than meets the eye. All the while a young magical terrorist group reeks havoc on the world. Kendel is left with the choice between the duty she didn't choose and the love she never knew she might find.
