Skaven. The word is throw about haphazardly by tired mothers to get fractious youth to do chores. Aside from old texts that were destroyed centuries ago, the Skaven are unknown to most of the human race.
But below their feet, that bedtime story becomes a horrible reality. Ratmen scurry about in their underground cities, where betrayal is a way of life and mercy has no place. Alliances are made, broken, and reformed within days in a ruthless environment. Clans constantly war with each other, only uniting to fight against the inferior surface dwellers.
Among these clans is the mighty Clan Rictus, infamous for their hordes of black furred Stormvermin. They roll over the surface dwellers in a tide of night, halberds and swords cutting down any who dare oppose them. Leading these elite soliders are the Fangleaders, equipped with their pick of arms and armor. These warriors lead from the front, the most lethal warriors any Stormvermin regiment can field.
One of these Fangleaders is the infamous Khrik Blackfang, a vicious warrior and skilled tactician. In the aftermath of a disastrous ambush, Khrik awakes on a devastated battlefield. What he does after will change the Skaven underworld and the Dwarven kingdoms forever.
