Romance
The Unexpected Debutante A Debutante is a mature aristocratic lady. She is a female beginner to the society. Meet Scarlett Annabelle Eldridge. She thought she was a completely middle-class normal girl who just graduated high school in Brisbane, and was on her way to college to pursue a career in medicine. Enter her extended family and their friends, or should we say, their business partners. A new portion of her life is introduced to her. She knew that her grandparents and friends in New York were business magnates. What she didn’t know was that they ruled the New York social and business scene. And she also didn’t expect a complete roller-coaster ride when she comes to the United States for college. Her grandparents want her to completely commit to living their lives, but she is not sure if she wants to. There must have been a reason why her parents opted out of it. There is love, old friends, new friends, new relationships, forgotten relationships, and lots more. Let’s see what this ride has to offer her. This is a work of fiction. The characters and events in this story are purely fictional. The Aid

Evie has dealt with her fair share of traumatic events, and she just wants to focus on college and her beloved paintbrushes and bass guitar. Harry is just beginning to deal with the most traumatic events of his life: cancer and the American healthcare system, respectively. The two fellow students meet on a bus when Harry notices a stranger following her, and he walks her home to make sure she's safe. Months later, when she learns about his diagnosis, Evie returns the favor in the only way that makes sense: by marrying him. It's meant to be just on paper. She's merely helping him out financially through her mom's health insurance plan. Neither of them expects this simple favor to come with growing worry that turns into a reluctant friendship, which then spirals completely out of control before either can stop it. But it does, and now they're dealing with it in their own unique ways: Evie ignores it, and Harry ignores her ignoring it. // TW: cancer, strong language, alcohol/underage drinking, mentions of substance abuse, mentions of physical abuse, sexual content
