Gabriella Greene. Anyone who’s anyone from the town of Accola knows that name. They all know what happened to her; how she became the girl that she is now, and especially what happened to her sibling. They also know that she lives alone; no parents, no friends, and no other relatives. And everyone who goes to Accola High knows what she does every February. All high school students anticipate it, even the ones on the top of the social ladder.

And when she talks to you, you’re obligated to talk back. But when you talk or even approach her, she’ll say what wants to say and most of the time ignore you like you never existed.

It’s the last week of January when new faces, Richie Foster and his family, suddenly move-in in their small town.

Well, we all know how fast words can get in a small town, right?

So, what will happen when Gabriella Greene’s path inevitably (or purposefully) crosses Richie Foster’s?

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐀𝐈𝐑 𝐁𝐄𝐓𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐔𝐒

18 parts Complete Mature

𝐆𝐀𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐀 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐑 was just trying to get to her summer internship at the hospital. Same route, same bus, same quiet daydreams about the boy who sat nearby but never close enough-untouchable, unreadable, and completely out of her league. 𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐀𝐍 𝐂𝐀𝐕𝐈𝐋𝐋 has always been out of reach. He's the golden boy of Hillcrest Academy: captain of the basketball team, top of his class, and a ghost of Gabriella's quiet admiration. To her, he's just a distant crush. To the world, he's practically perfect. But perfection means nothing when the city splits open. A sudden sinkhole. A police cordon. And a last minute diversion that takes their bus miles off course, leaving them stranded in a part of the city that doesn't exist on any map. Worse? They uncover something they were never meant to see; evidence of a powerful syndicate conducting illegal experiments on society's most vulnerable. Forced into hiding with a group of rebels and nowhere left to turn, Gabriella is trapped in close quarters with the one boy she's never been able to stop thinking about, and he's far more complex, volatile and possessive than she ever imagined. But in the pressure of confinement, chemistry ignites, jealousy simmers, and the truth might tear them apart before Aegis ever gets the chance.
