The first thing I noticed when I woke up was a throbbing pain in my neck. I groaned and sat up slowly. It was then that I noticed something sticky on my chest. I brushed my fingers against the substance, my eyes widening as I realized what it was. Blood, my own blood. The events of the previous night suddenly came flooding back. I reached a shaking hand to my neck and sure enough, there were two small puncture wounds on the side of my neck. My heart pounded against my chest and I screamed.

I should be dead.
