On her sixteenth birthday, Juliette's father - a wealthy businessman - passed away. Before he went, however, he left her a gift to open when she turned nineteen. Two years after his death, strange occurrences start happening in the small port town. People keep finding bodies with one large cut from their navel to throat. Panic starts spreading like wildfire when Juliette's mother is brutally killed in the middle of town and her body is left to be seen by a distraught crowd. It was a clear message. Especially since whatever killed her left a strange symbol carved into her body. The people think that a demon has cursed their village and while that may be true, Juliette has made a devastating connection. Prepared to flee, she seeks refuge aboard a ship as a stowaway and desperately prays that the thing that haunts her dreams won't find her. Her life is in jeopardy as a harsh storm brews between the magical and mundane powers of the world. And she's in the middle of it all.

Is it the king's illegitimate son? What about the king's suspiciously loyal man-at-arms? Read and find out. Plenty of swashbuckling, magic, sarcasm, and plot twists await in the mythical land of Ulster. Trigger/Content warning: Violence, but primarily fantasy violence. Profanity throughout. Some brief crude humor. Some conversations and circumstances may be emotionally upsetting, primarily to do with parental abuse, as well as dysphoria.
