Whispers From the Dead

"Look at me." The words were surprisingly soft, almost tender, not at all matching the image I had of the King. I took a deep breath as I lifted my gaze to look into his eyes. My breath hitched in my throat as my eyes were met with the most gorgeous golden gaze. He continued to look at me not saying a thing, and I was barely able to breath under his intense stare. Turned out I wasn't the only one having trouble breathing as the intense staring contest was broken by the sound of a crow falling from my shoulder to the ground. I immediately snapped back to reality crouching down to look at a pretty disorientated Bob.

"Jesus Christ! You scared the living shit out of me!"
