Finally, curiosity won the battle and I lifted my hand my eyes widening at the sight. A large black diamond ring adorned my ring finger, making me look very much engaged. I immediately began to pull it off but the ring wouldn't budge to my annoyance and horror.
"What did you do?" I hissed, growing more scared by the minute.
"It won't move no matter how hard you try, Ember, you belong to me now." Shivers ran down my spine, making me back up trying to get as far away from him as possible. Mission be damned, I needed to get away from him. I felt his warm hands on my waist, pulling me into him, I had my eyes closed, forcing myself to ignore him and his presence. I needed to focus to pull myself out of this situation and get the fuck out of there. I focused on the floor beneath me, the slight breeze, the scent in the room. The more I focused the more real it became and the more he disappeared.
