Cordonalae is a Draugma, a race of creatures who exist to give humans the dreams they are incapable of forming. In his world, his kind are imprisoned slaves, working endlessly so their dreams may be sold to the highest bidder Outside. Cor has never questioned his existence as a slave, a number, until a dream gives him a feeling he's never known: freedom.
Inspired to hold onto this dream for himself, he defies the rules and hides it, but not for long. Discovered and sentenced to death, he runs for his life.
As he tries to avoid capture, he explores a new, outside world and encounters people unlike any he's met before. He begins to discover his own powers as a Draugma and wants to spread the hope and wonder he believes dreams possess. But as Cor travels through this strange world he becomes faced with the idea that the dreams he loves might be a fantasy. And that may destroy him.
