Ariel McArthur, seventeen, has always dreamed of learning how to play the guitar, it being the most important of her imaginative mind's many dreams. After being diagnosed with thyroid cancer, she's aware that while other girls her age are planning on going to college, marrying their high school sweetheart, and truly beginning their lives, her future isn't as certain. With this, she does not let her determination to learn the guitar diminish, a smile always on her face. When she uses a wish distributed by her hospital to win herself a guitar teacher, she never expects Leno Belle to appear: the gorgeous hospitalized boy with leukaemia with an ear for the guitar.
As the two begin to know each other, discover one another's secrets, a friendship begins that could easily transform into more. Nevertheless, the town's golden boy is determined to come in the way of this. With Leno and Ariel's relationship becoming closer and closer, they begin to see things that have never been seen before. Yet, when it comes to cancer, there's always an end and one of their grand finales is going to have to arrive before the other.
