A poem I wrote several years ago for a creative writing class. Got a lot of praise then and I forgot about it after but I decided I'd go ahead and post it here. I don't do poetry anymore but I found it to be a stress reliever and for this poem (which was my final for this class) I decided to go all out and dig as deep as I could to give forth my most personal feelings. Poetry should speak for itself but for those non fluent in poetry this is a poem about a guy who was so obsessed with popularity that he allowed everyone else to embed themselves within him that he lost his own identity.

Dear friend, Would you say that I was obsessed? Or that I was truly in love? Or infatuated? Because till the very moment that I write this, I'm only aware of one human that sets himself so much apart, in my life, yet birthed nothing. And till this very moment, I'm yet to figure out what love really is and if these marks he left will ever erase.
