As part of the graduating class of 2016, Reyna Valens had almost everything going for her. She had her driver's license, her second-hand car passed down from her dad, and she was set on moving past her tumultuous and somewhat ugly high school experience. She was ready to leave sunny San Diego and move to the bright lights of LA. Since the time she was in middle school and almost flunked her 8th-grade algebra course, she wanted to leave and never come back. That never ended up working out when her parents' past caught up with her present-day self and they definitely did not see eye-to-eye. Fast forward to August, she's now working as a barista at a coffee shop in the middle-of-nowhere California and attending a community college two towns away traveling by semi-defunct commuter train. Follow Reyna Valens through the intricacies and mystery of her new life as the new girl working in the town's hottest establishment, McLennan's Coffeehouse. A coffee shop home to the town's outcasts, insomniacs, and rebels.

"Wait," I put my hands on my hips and frown. "You woke me up to ask me this? Because you want to meet me every morning at five?" "Yes." "So you honestly expect me to throw away three hours of perfectly good sleep just to have coffee with you?" He rolls his eyes and smirks at me. "Yes." "And what's in it for me?" he takes a step towards me. "Duh. You get to drink coffee with me every day for a year," he points at his face. "Are you going to say no to this pretty face, are you?" I hand him a five-dollar bill. "Fine, I'll do it," he smiles. "Now go get me a mocha latte and a cream cheese bagel." √ √ √ Ella Cliff has always been the girl with a perfect Instagram feed, an amazing closet and boyfriends to die for. What happens if they fall in love? And what would happen if they told everyone the truth? WARNING: This story contains insomnia, depression, and thoughts about suicide Coffee at 5 AM by Maura H.
