I wish you were my Only Choice

His face had dropped the familiar sneer, he always looked so different without it, like, he was, all of a sudden, not himself anymore.

"But you dont know who your parents are, how they died, or what they would've wanted you to grow up into" He looked at me intently, his eyes getting narrower. "It's interesting. You can choose to be who you want to be.

"Well, can't everyone, anyway?" I asked him.

"No, of course not" his face had pulled on the sneer again.

I smirked. "What would you have chosen, if you could choose?"

His stone grey eyes caught mine. It was so unusual for a moment, so unusual that I stood dead in my tracks, not smiling anymore. A distant cold wind blew a strand of dark red hair across my face. He slowly tucked it shabbily behind my ear and smiled.

"I'ld choose you", he said.
