[Note: This story was previously known as 'We Are Young' and since then many things have changed. The first chapter is fairly similar in content, but the story following it is not.]

Rian looks at me, the light of the fireworks dancing across his face and making his eyes glow. He smiles.
"The way I see it is that, as far as we know, we only have one crack at life, and I don't want to regret anything. I want to make the best of the time I have, regardless of how long that that turns out to be." He turns back to the show. "I don't want have just had a life; I want to have lived it."

The summer between her first and second years at university, Cynthia Stark, a shy and unmemorable girl, meets Rian O'Donnell, a lively Irish boy working in a florist. Having usually been the girl pushed into the background, Cynthia tells the story of how she becomes swept up in Rian's drug-like addiction to living. Each with their own battles, Rian and Cynthia teach each other the value of life and the people you meet along the way.

"So who the heck am I?" I stared defiantly at Freya. "I am a normal person. I go to high school. I have parents. What am I ?" I asked. "That is what we need to find out. Do you trust us enough to stay with us? Help us? You are powerful. You are the only Palenthian, first time in centuries who has magic inside her. Powerful magic. More powerful than most Valen. I can feel it. Stay with us and help us slay monsters. Please." I gulped. "What will I get for that?" "Answers." Renna Evans was just another normal girl in another normal world, living with her normal (and filthy rich) parents and going to a normal high school. Basically her life was as normal as could be. Westlake, South Carolina. Home to Brooklyn Callahan, the best latte maker on the east coast. Or so her mom tells her. She's lived in the mundane town with two stop lights her whole life, never needing more than the beach, her record player, and three coffees a day to counteract her terrible sleep schedule. Nothing interesting has ever happened to her and nothing ever will...that is, until one of the most famous, brown haired, green eyed nineteen year olds in the world waltzes into her work near closing and orders a black coffee. The ten minute exchange doesn't go very far, but with the whole summer ahead of him, Harry is determined to learn more about the first person he's met in a long time that didn't know his name. Brooklyn has only known quiet, and Harry has only known commotion. What happens when they show each other the sides of life they've been missing, overcome trials, and experience heartbreak, all while learning what love is in the process? EXCERPT: "I'm Harry." He says, and I only furrow my brow deeper. "Brooklyn." I say, even though I told him last night. "And I'm confused." "About what?" "You." "Already? We barely know each other yet." "Yet?" "I said I had the summer off." "...Congrats?" He laughs. "If it's not too much trouble, I'd like to make the most of it in your little town you call Westlake." Now I laugh. Hard. Almost a little too hard. And now I'm embarrassed. "Sorry, I just have no idea why you would subject yourself to that." I sigh. "I'd like a little bit of nothing." He says, repeating my words from last night. "I mean I guess there's nothing wrong with that...but why are you telling me this?" His gaze averts from me to the window for a few seconds before he looks back at me and shrugs his shoulders. "Don't know. But I like you, Brooklyn, so maybe you can show me around." - every chapter is based off of a taylor swift song, but you don't have to be a fan of hers to read! <3 STARTED JANUARY 2022 COMPLETED AUGUST 2022

""Kitten, you're worried about something, and you cannae lie. You're picking at your hands and looking around to clean up my room. Unlucky for you, my room is very clean," he said, "Now what are you worrying about so much?" I stopped picking at my cuticles. It was kind of weird that he could see me doing something and read me like a book before I could even realize I was doing it. I felt my heart pound in my chest. "Well, it's just this whole pretending to date you thing," I shrugged, "How far do we have to take it? Do we have to do it in front of our friends? Do we have to do it in public because obviously we ran into Olivia today and we weren't planning on it. Oh shit, what if she sees you with another girl? I mean, what would happen then? What if she sees me talking to another guy? How long is this going to go on? What if we have to kiss in front of Olivia? I mean, it's not that I don't want to kiss you but--" I rambled on nervously. Iain smirked and walked towards me, and the next thing I knew, his lips were on mine, and we were kissing." When Kit's older brother, Ben, finally makes it with the girl he's been crushing on for four years, only to find out she's wary of family, he lies and calls his baby sister his best friend's girlfriend, turning everyone's life upside down. While Kit's struggling with the impending doom of college and parents that could divorce at any second, she's also juggling a fake relationship with her brother's hot best friend, Iain. As if that weren't complicated enough, a chemistry sparks between Iain, igniting flames and destroying the crumbling world around them. RATED M for drug and alcohol use and sexual themes

Paris. The city of lights. The city of love. The city where Samuel Gavin Hernandez is located. Working in a small corner coffee shop, his job wasn't all that bad. Besides inhaling the smoke of men outside the shop and the annoying flirty baristas he had to keep in check, his job motivated his life. He was working there to be able to raise enough money to fly to America, specifically where his sister Olivia Hernandez lived. After receiving news that his condition was getting better, Sam could almost see his future. Almost. If it wasn't for trying to earn money and working late shifts for said money, his condition would have stayed the same. But now, he had to make a choice. Leave work and live a better life. Or, keep working, live with his sister, but possibly risk the idea of a home. Sam doesn't want to make this decision. As time flies past him, he lets a girl he usually serves at the shop stay with him at his apartment because she ran away from her rich family. Noticing how he differs from others, she offers him help. She has a dream to work as a famous designer in America, and if the two worked together, they'd both get what they want. This is a book of an adolescent trying to find a home, no matter the cost; life or limb, danger or abandonment. But what if something interfered with their story? Would he find his home? Would she find her freedom? We wouldn't know. And with that, let's get the story going, shall we? Let's find home. ~~~ Fuck. I promised after my bitch ex that I wouldn't fall. But guess who's been pushed off the cliff? This stupid little shit. "Though," Rebecca continued, her left hand to her mouth to hold in a giggle, "you don't seem like a romantic type. So, I hope I've fallen righteously." As I looked down at her, my gaze lowered to stare at her beautiful eyes. My hand moved to hold hers, our fingers lacing together. I hope so too.

He brushed his lips against my jaw, his dark hair falling over his brow. "Open your eyes," he commanded. "Look at me." I followed his orders and looked into the raven-black depths before me. I saw my entranced gaze reflected in his glaring one. "Tell me what you see." I kept on looking at him, searching for something, anything, that remained of the person he used to be. They say the eyes are the windows to the soul. But his eyes were so dark, so empty . . . "Nothing. I see nothing," I whispered. He smirked, his gaze still on me. He pulled away, leaving me feeling cold. "Exactly. You see nothing - that's because there's nothing there." ** How much can a person change in just three years? Short and full of fiery spirit, Hanna Jordan is a gifted college student who is enrolled in one of the most prestigious culinary programs in the country. She's just returned from three years of study in France and is anxious to reconnect with her longtime friend, Rian Aronhalt. Despite their differences, both are haunted by dark memories of the past, which form a poisonous bond between Hanna and Rian that neither can escape from. Can they both heal from the scars time left behind, and find love in the process?

[COMPLETE] Soz this may be cringe, it was written very long ago A seemingly ordinary, working college girl meets a cool, undeniably sexy boy with millions of followers at his feet. How will their completely different lives allow, or prevent them from getting what they want? Expect some drama, flirty lines, steamy scenes, funny best friends, and perhaps, an overall epic love connection. ~ Carter came around the corner as his eyes darkened with a predatory gaze. Oh no. He took a step forward, minimalizing the distance with every dominating stride, as I froze in my spot. My breath hitched as his arms finally encircled my waist and his eyes locked with mine. In one swift motion, he flipped my body so my back was pressed against his chest and hands gripped the curve of my hips. "What game are you trying to play at Valerie?" he spoke in a husky voice. Goosebumps danced along my skin as his hot breath fanned against the shell of my ear and his fingertips lit a trail of blazing heat along the length of my arm. Mentally shaking myself from the trance of that which is Carter Bryson, I tilted my head towards him and whispered; "One where you'll lose." Quickly escaping his hold on me before the tension became unbearable, I spun on my heel to face him and slowly backed away towards the exit. "Good luck though." I added mischievously. With a smirk and a devilish glint in his eyes that could even give hell a run for its money, he replied; "I'm not a player though, baby. I'm the gamemaker." ~ ❗️Mature content. For Aadam, Renna was more than a friend, she was the constant in a world that felt too big, a piece of home he has carried with him across miles and years. Now, all these years later, he's back, and there she is-still gentle, still enchanting, but undeniably changed. She's someone different, someone who stirs something deeper that feels both familiar and new, something he doesn't know how to admit. As they find themselves drawn back to each other, reigniting the friendship they once cherished, old memories blend with new emotions that neither of them fully understand.
