Mature
A homeless couple find a abandon building and move into it. They adopt a street child and hide her from her pimp. Only the building is strange. There are spiritual entities within. Not a danger to the homeless family. Deadly to the pimp and his soldiers.

The homeless couple find the child's real relative and finally are convinced to send the child back to her relatives. But not before the spirits of the building reveal themselves. In the process the spirits reveal that what they expected. The building was a living, feeding entity.

I put this story as mature because it discusses things that may be disturbing. Human trafficking, survival sex, child abuse, homelessness, and the control methods used by people involved in human sex trafficking.

I was homeless three times in my life. Much of what happened to me during those periods are reflected in this story as well as researched material from the internet.

While tortured and held captive as a prisoner of war, she became my reason to keep breathing. The force that fueled my will to fight. To survive. When I woke after the rescue to discover the life I thought I was coming home to was but a figment of my imagination, hallucinations brought about by pain, desperation, and isolation... it nearly broke me. Fifteen years since I first lost her, at last, we have a second chance. Holding her in my arms, finally feeling the warmth of her skin as she melts under my touch, is like a dream. She and her two little girls are now as essential to my existence as the air I breathe. However, just as things start falling into place, the universe steps in, threatening to take it all away. I used to think that choosing her cost me everything I'd ever loved, but now I see that in choosing her and her children, I have the chance to reclaim all that I lost. They are my salvation. My true path to redemption. Which is why I'll leave no stone unturned, why I will scorch this world to the ground if that's what it takes to save them. And when I do, I will fight to convince her once and for all they are meant to be mine, just as I was destined to be theirs. In the Broken Redemption Series, one man's vow to protect the woman he lost becomes a battle between redemption, forgiveness, and the kind of love that refuses to let go. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is Book 3 of Lucas & Emilia's Broken Redemption arc, the emotional conclusion to their story. For the full journey, start with Book 1: Broken Vows.

Genre: Sci-Fi | Psychological Horror | Post-Apocalyptic Drama When the world burned, four teenagers survived. Milo, Rae, Ava, and Silas didn't ask to live through the end - but they did. Now, stuck in a ruined world of silence, shadows, and memories that aren't always their own, they fight to stay human in a landscape shaped by something unnatural. But survival gets more complicated when they uncover a chilling truth: the apocalypse wasn't a disaster. It was a test. A controlled experiment under the name Project Loci - and they were its subjects. Now stalked by cloned imposters, haunted by flickers of who they used to be, and drawn toward a signal no one else is meant to hear, the group must decide what they're willing to lose to uncover the truth... and what might already be lost. Because in a world built from lies, the biggest question isn't what happened. It's who are you now that everything's gone? What will happen once one dies?
