Seventeen year old Rowan Acker was kicked out when he was fourteen, that was three years ago. After living on the streets from shelter to shelter and sometimes sleeping on the odd park bench in his hometown his life is about to change. Rowan is a smart kid, so even after he was kicked out he remained attending River Valley High School. Not having much he is often picked on at school especially by Simon Hills.

Simon Hills is the Mayor's son, he has always had everything he could ever want. He is always quick to judge a book by its cover and because of that has been bullying Rowan for three years, meanwhile, he is completely unaware of Rowan's situation.
