For them, life is absolutely perfect. Until the day the heroes kidnap Morgan to try and get to the S tier. And during their interrogation discover that Morgan's mostly useless superpower (a near useless summoning ability) has the potential to be Alex's undoing. Literally. For an S tier like Alex death is hardly permanent, but he comes back to a very changed world. One that both has moved on from him and still feels the scars from the aftermath of his death. And as for Morgan? They are barely recognisable from the light-hearted friend Alex left behind.

He woke up to the Aregonian gods, Osires and Zios, telling him about training and his future and staying away from Pantheos, the Aregonian god of the underworld. But everything they tell him to do, Nora says the opposite. Everything they say, Nora hints that they're lying to him. Unsure of what to think, and with Nora continuously telling him to simply "look deeper" and "wait a little longer", Genex decides he needs to find the answer, and he needs to find the answer now. -> This story can also be found in To Be a Writer, but I wanted to publish it seperately as well. :)
