she had both warmth
and all the harm
he would like
and dislike.

bambi eyes,
pouted smiles,
he could not resist
letting himself insist

that he adored and
wanted her hand
and all she was
as his last.

it's their story
told by him only,
not only to be heard
but also to be learned.
