This is the 2nd book to Night Demons:
The blade pulsed with white light agaisnt my sking and didnt even have to bare down for it to bring blood. "Oh, you're a powerful one, aren't you, Sweetheart?"
I felt myself transforming before i sent the coman to my body. "Oh, you have no idea." I hissed. My skin rippled and I could feel the pressure on my back and in my fingers that meant my wings and claws were coming out to play. My body didn't even get a warning before my fangs slid down. I accidenlly cut my tongue but I didn't care because I knew the blood pouring out of my mouth would only add to the look.
Max didn't even fulter at my new look, he just held the blade steady at my thoat through the whole transformation.
"Killing me won't do much." I told him with a grin, the feel of blood running down my jaw made me smile slightly.
At that moment I saw someone emerge from the trees and into my view but my eyes widened when I saw someone other then my father whom I knew was looking for me.
Cullen's eyes widened as he took in the scene before him. He put his finger to his lips as an order for me not to make it obvious that he was there.
He reached into his pocket and pulled his own blade out........

Blade's eyes turned cold. Like a dark colored ocean that just froze. He took a frightening step forward so now his face was only inches from my face, even with his height, making my breath hitch in my throat. I could no longer breath. No longer see people repeatedly walking past my house. No longer hear those birds in the tree that were begging me to run. I could only see his dark blue eyes that held so much danger and anger. I could only hear his rapid breathing and even his fast heartbeat. I was just that dazed into his stare.... more like glare. "Is there someone else?" he said so low no one could hear but me. And I heard him. So clearly. I heard the threat telling me to say yes for he can make whoever the competition is disappear. I heard the anger he held behind his low tone. I heard the jealousy beyond anything. That was what clouded over everything. "N-no," I stuttered. I'm angry to admit I was scared. How he towered over me didn't make it any better. Standing proudly at maybe a 6'4 or 6'5. While I stood at a 5'5. He scanned my face trying to look for any sign of me lying. And when he backed up I knew he couldn't find one because what I said was indeed true. To be honest there was only him. And it seems like that is what it will always be. I think we can have some fun together while you stay. Don't you agree?" She said as she laughed again and gave me her signature smile. My dream continued the one I'd been having for the past couple of nights. I ran, gasping for breath, through the familiar woods from a dark figure behind me. The faster I tried to run, the slower I seemed to go, until it was like I was running in place. I knew I needed to run. I was terrified of what the figure would do when he caught me. "Mara Leigh," a deep, smooth voice called. It was almost hypnotic. That was new. The figure had never spoke before now. I ran as fast as I could go, eyes searching the forest floor for a big stick or something that I could use to defend myself. "Mara Leigh!" the voice came again, this time more insistent. The forest slowly started to fade and I started to awake to someone shaking my shoulders. "Beau?" I mumbled, turning my head to the side. What's Beau doing in my room this time of night? Why is he shaking me? "Do not call me that name." My eyes flew open as I jumped at the voice from my dream. A face was right in front of mine, and just like the voice, it wasn't Beau. Before I could form a scream, a hand covered my mouth. I tried to bite it but I couldn't get my mouth to open. He's too strong. I started to use my whole body to try to get away, but he crawled on top of me, holding me down. I pulled the hidden knife out from under my pillow and slashed as hard as I could at him, but he just grabbed my wrist and squeezed it until the pain made me drop the knife. Then he grabbed both my hands in one of his and held them over my head. He held me down while I struggled. I grunted and moved and tried to kick and scream, but I only wore myself out. Exhausted, I stopped thrashing and let the tears flow freely down my cheeks. I didn't know what to do, so I just tried to prepare myself for whatever was coming.Complete
