this isn't my own story all the credit goes to Gyles Brandreth, but this is my absolute second favourite book.

LONDON. 1894.
'I am not a detective, chief constable.'

'No, but you are a poet, a freemason and a man of the world. All useful qualifications for the business in hand.'

So says Police Chief Macnaghten to Oscar Wilde, in a Chelsea drawing room in the company of Arthur Conan Doyle. The business they are gathered to discuss is none other than the case of Jack the Ripper, the most notorious murderer in England. The three men have set out to solve one of the world's most famous mysteries - the ultimate truth about the Ripper's identity.

Case Closed is Arthur Conan Doyle's account of the events of 1894, the year of Jack the Ripper's return. Based on Oscar Wilde's real-life friendship with Conan Doyle and the extraordinary but little-known fact that the detective in charge of the investigations was Oscar Wilde's neighbour, this is a revelatory and gripping detective story, combining the intrigue of a classic murder mystery with a witty and compelling portrait of one of the greatest characters of the Victorian Age.

[PUBLISHING PAUSED UNTIL WRITING COMPLETION!] The art world is a place of beauty and inspiration, but also of hidden secrets. A corpse is found in one of the most unusual circumstances Greg Lestrade has ever seen, which means only one thing; it's straight to 221b Baker Street. Sherlock has never been very good around people or very used to it, let alone someone who seems to be on his wavelength. So what happens when one of John's best friends moves into town? Well, Sherlock finds himself in and amidst a new case, of course. But what does any of this have to do with an art gallery? Well... --- This book covers themes of a slightly mature nature; mentions of blood etc, much like a Sherlock episode and therefore may contain strong language. But if you want to experience the detective in action, then you've come to the right place. (I do not own the characters or IP of Sherlock nor claim to.)
