Sargent Francine "Frankie" Connelly's life changed forever when her transport was hit by an IED. Waking up after a nine-month coma, she found her mental faculties had been pushed beyond anything imaginable. After returning to her hometown of Redmond, OR, she tries to resume her life as normally as possible. But normal is something foreign to Frankie now. She never sleeps. She can read a novel in minutes. She can watch multiple videos and listen to a variety of music at the same time. She remembers everything. She stays up all night creating new technological wonders to be given to the world. But a new presence in her small town and a terrible tragedy forces her to return to the life of a Soldier. A nuclear explosion wipes out a small town in Indiana, which either kills, or rewrites the cells of anyone caught in it's range. Some people weren't able to handle it's affects, others have been changed. Everyone who survived was given a supernatural ability. Hallie Osborn was affected by the explosion, and was one of the few people her age who survived, and is taken into a hospital of sorts for people like her. Finn doesn't remember anything outside of the hospital, the first thing he could remember was the chemical tank. He's not sure why he's put in there so often, but isn't allowed to ask many questions. The doctors and therapists are keeping many things from the gifted, and with the help of Finn, Hallie's going to figure out what.
