"The world doesn't need superheroes. The world needs a beacon of hope, and we need to stop pinning this beacon on just Superman. We need to provide the world with our own beacon, so that the world will never fear that it's alone."

"How do we do that?"

"Good question, I have no idea!"

The Justice League must make room for a young woman who's being introduced to a world of good for the first time. Will this newfound passion for justice be what this element wielding heroine needs, or will she revert to the world of hate and evil she knows best? Who knows, perhaps a certain fast fellow may even kickstart her heart in the process.

Takes place after Justice League. Not alligned with the movie. It's my own plot. I own only my character. Everyone else belongs to DC.

An alternate ending to the 2013 movie Man of Steel using characters from The Dark Knight, Batman vs Superman and the movie Fight Club I thought Man of Steel was great But watching Superman kill Zod and make his race extinct, seemed as excessive as the destruction of Metropolis The original alternate ending (the 1st draft of part 1) was the typical farm-boy meets Kryptonian girl and saves the day by proving to Zod that humans have redeeming qualities. It was only when I thought about what would happen to the narrator, Tyler Durden, after Zod made peace with Earth & Kal El, that I could see the potential for a real story. I should give advance notice to the readers who may be expecting a series of dramatic SuperHero versus SuperVillain fights, this is an anti-super, anti-hero story as it is told from the perspective of a regular-guy weaving his way through a Meta-Human conflict while keeping his eyes on the prize: (Faora Ul). Logically, the story focuses mainly on 'human' characteristics of the Superhero/Villain characters as well as developing DC-Comic's 'C-Listers' (Martha Kent/Lois Lane/Nathan Hardy/Perry White) into characters who are central to the storyline. Rated Mature for: Profanity Adult situations (no sex) Violence Smoking Ps: I use Italics to identify the narrator's inner monologue as well as distinguish dream sequences and other breaks from the narrative's reality, in addition to using italics for emphasis. Originally published here in November 2021, then periodically reread in edit mode in an effort to clean up the typos, as well as sharpen the narrative. Thanks for reading Hope you like it! After surviving a bank robbery, with much thanks to Aquaman, Camille decides to complete her training to join the police force; to help people like he did and to redeem herself from a gruesome death that she was too petrified to stop. After being assigned to Amnesty Bay she finds curiosity in an old lighthouse, and a man that was hiding within; the late Aquaman. Unfortunately, after giving his throne to his brother Orm, Arthur had disappeared from both his life on the surface and the ocean. The appearance of Mera and Kaldur'ahm alerts him to the possible war that his brother plans to inflict upon the surface. Camille, determined to help, steals a submarine from Black Manta and tags along. Can she help them save Atlantis, and maybe even progress the lost city into a modern age of thinking? Or will she crumble under the pressure...
