Lily and James Potter were killed leaving their legacy behind. When Hagrid appears at Godric's Hallow he not only discovers Harry Potter, but another baby with bright red hair. Having been instructed to bring Harry to number 4 Privet Drive, Hagrid takes the other baby to a new wizarding family, the Woods, along with a letter explaining everything. 

Now, when both Harry and Cecilia start their first year of Hogwarts they completely are unbeknownst of who the other is, in fact start off on bad terms which leads to a small string of glares across classrooms and not so nice comments to each other.
