After being attacked by a fairy tale monster at her school and saved by a 16-year-old boy named Tyler Warfield, Aleea discovers she is the guardian of a key to a very powerful weapon.
Fearing another attack her adoptive father, Jasper, agrees to take Aleea to a special school for children with the ability to influence the four basic elements, earth, fire, air and water. There Aleea meets the decedents of the people who created the weapons who call themselves puri.
It isn't long though until those seeking to control the weapon come after Aleea again; forcing her to flee for her life or find the weapon and destroy it.
