In the ancient Roman coastal city of Salernum, AD 2, Leonidas Remmius Tertius, son of the weak but powerful senate member Decimus Remmius Varus, plots to end the life of his greedy older brother, Marcus Remmius Balbus, and his adulterous wife, Fulvia Remmius. Along with his fellows, Leonidas seeks to take the power his Brother has over their father for himself, bolstering his own wealth and social standing in the process. Meanwhile, Marcus, fearing the betrayal of his wife, begins to carelessly make his move against his father in the final stage of his grand plan.
