The Earth as we know it no longer exists. Although technology is at its best poverty still exists, but it is not just sections of the world that are effected it is the whole world. There is no government to run things. Scientists now control the world. The government couldn't feed everyone and was deemed unnecessary. Scientists had introduced cloning animals and plants for food in 2020 and was able to feed the world without having to wait the time for these animals to grow. The world was at peace until the birth rate started to sky rocket. Women started to have multiple births. Having twins, triplets, even quadruplets became normal. With the increase of mouths to feed steadily growing scientists started to genetically modify the copies of the animals and plants to provide. After a decade of this land started to become a thing of the distant past. There was hardly any room for farming with the overlapping of homes that covered the earth. Things started to settle and the world was again at peace. 2035 the world experienced its first sun flare. The rising heat no longer hidden behind the ozone that had been destroyed by the increase of population and decrease of foliage. Killing millions and stirring a melting pot of fears nationwide. Scientists scrambled for a way to fix it building new buildings that connected homes to stores and offices seemed to fix it all. The world was complacent with the way they were living until he showed up ,Ezekiel Valentine. He has created life altering and planet saving technology. He is the key to our survival and this is his story.

*Book #1 In The Crashing Series* A long time ago, people used to think that Earth would be taken over by aliens. But when her miscalculations and malfunctioning ship takes her off course, she crash lands on a planet deemed to be uninhabitable. The year is 2050. Various measures to improve the quality of life for America's citizens have been put into place such as socialized healthcare and widely accessible housing. To avoid children growing up in abusive or even dangerous households, the government willingly provides housing amongst other resources for unwanted children. All is well, and there is no need to fear. Wildlife and native plants are scarce, but thanks to modern science, small populations of select species are coming back into the wild, new and genetically improved for their ever-changing environment. Yet, this is only one of this era's innovative concepts. This is an age of breakthrough scientific discoveries that can change the world for better... or for worse. In the name of science, those who suffer from severe mental illnesses are not seen as human anymore. In order to find more efficient treatment, the government has begun controversial yet widespread experimentation. Even after years of blood, sweat, and tears, the government's rigorous attempts to save these citizens have been futile. 100 years ago, amidst WW3's nuclear bombing, a deadly virus was released in the atmosphere and nearly wiping out the humanity. It lives inside the human brain thriving on the empathy receptors, leading to irrational behaviour and ultimately brain death. To slow the damage, scientists created L.O.V.E, short for Living Off Vital Emotions, a nanovaccine that numbs the virus and switches off all strong emotions. As a last resort and with a dying planet, the Supreme Government created the City, a place to contain the infected survivors suitable for the experiment. Those in the first stages of illness became ideal candidates to receive the neuroinhibitor. Having their feelings restrained and their memory altered, those who come of age are designated a life partner through a Selection process, thus preserving the humankind. A few decades after the trial had started, scientists had a major breakthrough. The nanites, which are highly chemically reactive organisms, are changing their bio-engineered purpose when dopamine levels are high. With a new generation of nanoids, stronger and smarter to fight the battle, the virus doesn't have a chance. Many attempts were made to create a man-made version of synthetic dopamine and each time the outcome was a disaster. Their goal is to create new generations, immune to the virus. These are called Purebloods, the offsprings of those who find pure love, the only cure to save them from a violent death. Running out of time, the Experiment entered in its final stages. To minimize the threats, the Colonies have sent their best soldiers to oversee the trial and protect its key subjects. If only things were going according to plan, or better...stay hidden. I had been living in this dystopian universe my whole life. We lived simple, meaningless lives. I wasn't sad, merely dissatisfied. No one here was ever sad. The Center, which was our government, forced us to take a pill every morning to make sure we were always happy and healthy. For most of our lives we lived at home with our odd families that the government stuck us into as babies. Usually five children were put into each household. We grew up together in a single house, raised and taught by a robot even though none of us were related. We lived at home with limitless entertainment in the form of advanced technologies. We had one day of the week for shopping, one day for going out and one day for labor. On labor days we were assigned a job and had to complete it in order to gain money for the week. Everyone got the same amount no matter the job. If you didn't show up for these jobs there were grave consequences. The Center often used torture as a method of punishment, or so we were told. No one close to me had ever actually been punished by The Center though. It was incredibly rare. Most of us lived our lives as good little pawns doing nothing more than eating, sleeping and entertaining ourselves. But one day, my regular boring life changed...Complete

Simultaneously, a deadly virus starts to spread all about the world, attacking only the Altered -- every human over the age of sixteen. The virus eats at the modified human brain, and soon the Unaltered begin to realise that the Altered are losing their minds. Home is no longer safe. Friends and family turn on one another, losing control of their own minds and bodies. The Unaltered aren't safe. Even if the virus isn't attacking them, the ones with the virus are.
