"The world is dying as it is. I guess you can say fear really is freedom. But I don't want this anymore. I guess I have no choice left." People can exchange something from their physical body, but they never know what they lose or gain till they try. The process of giving something up in order to get a superhuman ability, is called an exchange, as is the ability itself. However those who perform an exchange can be lost to the power. Many cities fell to those with power, the only places that didn't get destroyed were the small, sleepy towns. That's why there are celestials to protect the people, so more aren't lost.

Bluejays

Once upon a time, five people agreed to be part of a secret experiment. The experiment was meant to give them superpowers. They were promised that their loved ones would not be affected by the experiment, no matter what the outcome was. This was good, as the experiment failed--or so they thought. For one, it was her first child. For another, his second-born. For a third, her third. For the fourth, her fourth, and for the fifth, his first. They were all born with strange powers--powers that nobody could explain, and that put everybody around them in danger. Taken from their parents, the children were raised apart from society. They served a particular purpose. Nothing would go wrong. Until something does... or a lot of somethings.
