"I'm not even sure Brooklyn is home anymore, anyway. All that time in Siberia, all those years away from New York, do I even have the right to call it home anymore? I wasn't born there. I haven't lived there in decades. I haven't even seen in since...I can't even remember when."

"Home is wherever you make it. Home is where the people you love are. I've learned that much over my lifetimes."

"Home can be wherever, then."

Nearly two years have passed since the Civil War, since Steve and Tony had a falling out that split the Avengers in two. Two years have passed since Emma and Bucky reunited, escaped to Wakanda, and went into cryo-stasis.

When they wake, Bucky is back to his old self. Emma, however, is still searching for a cure. They don't let this setback stop them from starting a new life in Wakanda. Nothing is the same as it used to be, but Emma and Bucky are together again and couldn't be happier. All the mistakes of the past are water under the bridge. They're retired from hero-work, intending to life the rest of their lives in peace and calm.

But a threat appears soon after their awakening, a threat that could wipe out half of the life in the universe. This threat has been coming for a long time, and after multiple heroes go missing--among them being Tony Stark--even those heroes on the run must step up. With more than just a city or a country at stake, Emma and Bucky make the hard decision: to go back to war.

In the final installment of the Lady liberty Chronicles, who will prevail: Thanos or Earth's Mightiest Heroes? And when the dust of the Infinity War settles, will there be a place left for Bucky and Emma to call home?

In this alternate universe, Loki is sent to Midgard after the fight over the Aether. The Avengers question the Allfather's sanity, but agree they would rather have Loki where they can keep an eye on him. So, after some extensive remodeling, the Avengers Tower and neighboring facilities are now an extensive training ground with everything they'll need to reform the once proud Asgardian prince. Thor is hopeful. He wants the brother he thought Loki was back. Clint (Hawkeye) is waiting for a reason to exact some much deserved revenge. Steve (Captain America) has hope that even the most hardened of evil doers can be changed for the better. No one quite knows what Natasha (Black Widow) is thinking. Tony (Iron Man) resents having to share his tower with a psychopath. Bruce (Hulk) did not fly away to Sakar. He's brooding away in his own private wing. Scott (Antman) is under house arrest... at the tower. Wanda (Scarlet Witch) is still mourning her brother while nurturing a still very naive Vision. (Neither are living in the tower. Will only play small, fleeting parts in this story.) Dr Strange refuses to move into the tower. After all, it is more important to keep up with his work at the Sanctum. Peter (Spiderman) is spending his summer at the Tower, much to the dismay of Aunt May, who knows how dangerous this is, but does not know Loki has returned. Sam (Falcon) will follow Cap to the ends of the earth, but refuses to jump off the proverbial bridge just because Cap's doing it. Bucky (Winter Soldier) is trying to atone for his past misdeeds, while learning what exactly they were, but is living in Wakanda with T-challa (Black Panther) so neither will be playing a large role in this story. Then there's Aite. She's new. She's the Greek goddess of mischief, delusion, folly, and ruin. You'd think her and Loki would be the best of friends... Not so much.

It's been almost two years since the defeat of Thanos & the effects of the snap was successfully reversed. The world has slowly picked up the pieces & everyone worked hard to resume their lives right off where the Decimation left them hanging. Some succeeded, as easily as pressing the play button after putting a movie on a long pause, while some were never the same again despite regaining everything and everyone they have lost. The Avengers were the lucky ones. Lucky enough to go back to their normal or fortunate enough to be given a fresh start. Tony & Pepper got married & jetted off in a private island to finally start their long overdue family life. Sam moved back to D.C & resumed his work at the VA. Rhodey continued working as a military consultant & Wakanda has never been more occupied as it became the number one tourist spot in less then a year. Clint went back to retirement tugging Wanda along with him to his farm where Laura welcomed her with open arms. Thor & Bruce were off-planet helping the remaining Asgardians settle on a new home. Fury rebuilt his super spy network with Maria overseeing operations at the Avengers Facility, recruiting, training a new breed of response team. And Steve finally got Bucky back & they have spent the past year back in Brooklyn, traveling the world once in a while & even participating in USO tours and fairs. Everyone tried to move on and rightly so because at the end of the day, that's pretty much what's expected of everyone after any tragedy. Natasha, too has moved on. The only problem is, she chose to move on alone. * I don't own any of these characters or wish to infringe on any copy or intellectual rights. I'm just someone who has a deep love for the MCU that I can't help but try to keep the story going, keep these characters alive in more adventures, especially with 'endgame' hovering, looming over us.*

Two years later, Freya, Steve, and their two best friends, Natasha and Sam, are still on the run after the Avengers' Civil War. Trying to lay low and live as normal of a life as they possibly can, they jump from hotel to hotel as they try to stay out of law enforcement's reach. Of course, having a telepath on your team is definitely handy for that. Freya's had her powers under control for years now, but out of the blue, her precognitive dreams have been making frequent and fierce appearances. What she sees is starting to scare her after all of her previous ones have come to fruition. When a new threat appears that is also connected to Freya's past, how will the fractured Avengers defend not only the world, but the universe as they know it? What lengths will they go to, to insure the safety of the greater good? Who will survive and who will fall? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Steve Rogers x OC (Stark) (Avengers: Infinity War) **Book four in the Mercury Series** ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I DO NOT OWN ANYTHING MARVEL OR DISNEY RELATED!! Sequel of Rumors of War and The Immortality War. Book Three of Five. Set during Captain America: The Winter Soldier. .•.•.•.•.•.•.•.•.•.•. Steve trails off, his shoulders sagging. "It's just not the same." "Nor should it be." I reach over, placing my hand over his. "I know things are different, but that doesn't have to be a bad thing. Nostalgia is a dirty liar, Steve. It makes us forget all the horrible things that happened in the old days. And there were horrible things. We can miss the past, but I've tried very hard to also love the present. After all, in the end, it's the only thing we have." .•.•.•.•.•.•.•.•.•.•. A lot has changed for Emma Barnes and Steve Rogers since the Chitauri, and mischief god Loki, invaded New York City two years ago. She went from being a fugitive, forced to live outside the United States, and a known murderer to being an Avenger, a welcomed-American, and a hero to many around the globe. Her reputation as Lady Liberty has been reinstated, and she fights along her friends--both old and new--to maintain order in the brave, new world. After Natasha invited both Emma and Steve to re-join SHIELD, the trio have become as close as friends can be. Life is good for Emma, and she finally has some peace about her past. But nothing lasts forever. Long-suppressed secrets start to surface for the first time in decades. Secrets that have kept Emma's sworn enemy, HYDRA, alive and well inside SHIELD. And when a figure from her and Natasha's past shows up in an attempt to kill Nick Fury, Emma, Steve, and Natasha are forced to go against everything they've fought for the past two years. They're forced to become fugitives again, forced to go against the law and organization they helped create, and forced to face the ghosts from their pasts. Especially the ghost with a metal arm.
