Disclaimer: This story is based on my own perception of the subplot in Outlast II, and thus much of what you may expect to read could very well be missing. This work is purposely not meant to be 100% loyal to the in-game storyline.

I do not strive to create a work of horror. Personally, I think that when done, this short story should serve as a decently good read for anyone who feels as much contempt as I do after playing Outlast II.
Anyway, this is going to be my first short story ever so be prepared for plotholes and all.

'Doctors' inform her that she has been infected with a virus, which is why she is contained here until she can find a cure. The girl meets a grumpy man as her cellmate who is much less trusting than her. With time, they notice that these trials to help them seem to derail into something far darker. Are they really sick? This is 1/2 part of what I'm working on. It's kind of a haters to lovers type vibe, so there will be more of a slow burn angsty tension rather than straight up smut :) While I was writing the 50th chapter. I found a better way to describe this version of Y/N and Emily Prentiss: A self destructive drug addict with a traumatic past meets a somewhat patient federal agent... So, there will be a lot of substance usage in this story.. And it'll probably be somewhat toxic because I'm definitely not promoting substance abuse. Y/N is a total mess. After surviving an abusive relationship with the son of a mob boss who made her do some horrible things, she's been stuck in a downward spiral of anger, guilt, and self-destruction. Losing her dad a few days after her escape only made herangrier. She's selfish and a coward, always trying to protect herself.
