Sophie Rock was captain of Madison High School's nationally ranked debate team. Luke and her just won the State Championship and were unstoppable. But a concerning phone call and a trip to the hospital later, Sophie was an orphan. Her Uncle Kurt decides to take her in which involves a 2,000 mile move from Connecticut to California. Starting anew her senior year, Sophie has little hope. On her first day at Liberty High School in Anaheim, she meets Addison in Biology. The two of them are partners in a project. With no other friends, she joins him at lunch and meets Andrew - Liberty's one and only debate captain. A few periods later, there is a Boston Massacre debate in Poly Sci, and she is drafted for the debate team. Refusing, she goes home. But, when Addsion's partner gets sick, someone has to step in. A bet and a first place later, Sophie is once again going to nationals. But, as truths come to light and futures come into question, Sophie must make some tough choices. New friends. Old enemies.
