They can't stand each other. To John, Alex is just a stuck up snobby smart kid who wants nothing to do with anyone. To Alex, John is just a rich boy with no problems and can't understand simple things. In a world where whatever you write on your arm appears on your soulmate's arm as well, however, they find they are not so different and have different feelings for each other. They just don't know they're each other's soulmates yet. When they find out will they put aside their differences? Or will they ignore it completely? Alexander knows he loves Laurens. He also knows that he is straight and only has a platonic relationship with Laurens. He does not think about the taste of Laurens' lips, the soft curls of his hair framing his honey-drop freckles, the curve and snap of the muscles under his skin, or the region under his breeches he wouldn't dare say even under the cover of his thoughts.
