The story of my life. Gia, lost in her own world, literally lost after her not so normal past and not so normal family. She falls in love at an unexpected time, which saves her from spiraling into a dark abyss called depression. That cannot be said for her mother, however, who is struggling, even with her daughters help, she still is struggling trying to live with her hardships.Gia, however, finally has her mother back after she left for 6 years when Gia was 5, and is determined to help her.

I've been very depressed and heartbroken so, what better than to create a story out of it? "This is my life" details a protagonist going through her teenage years up until the age of 21. Through love, friendship, grief, and heartbreak, you will get to witness what it's like being a young black girl trying to conquer the world. I hope anyone going through either heartbreak, grief, insecurities, mental health declines are able to read this and know that they're not alone!
