Ashton Irwin, 19, struggles with self harm, introvert, gay:
When his dad died when he was 15, he put on a few pounds but soon lost them after getting bullied so much for being fat and gay... until high school ended for him. The morning of his graduation, his mum walks in on him cutting. Since then she takes him to his therapist every Thursday when his therapist's son, Luke Hemmings, Ashton's crush, always sits out in the lobby, but he's always been too scared to talk to him.
Luke Hemmings, 17, super smart, confident, gay:
He doesn't have any friends beside Calum Hood, who is home schooled. Luke gets bullied for being single and gets called "freak" and "nerd" on a regular basis, though he doesn't let it get to him. He's a year ahead of his grade and is always a tutor. He wants Ashton Irwin for himself.

Dr. Hemmings tells Ashton to try to stay clean for 90 days and to keep a journal of his journey.
When Ashton is told about Luke by none other than his father, Dr. Hemmings, Ash starts stalking Luke on Instagram and develops a huge crush on the boy. One day, Ashton bumps into Luke on his way out of the bathroom of the therapist office, and things escalate from there.

X*SELF HARM WARNING*X *Smut warning*
Luke is in love with his best friend, Ashton Irwin. He constantly finds himself getting stuck in situations where he feels exposed to his feelings and sexuality. That's the problem. Nobody knows that Luke is into guys, due to his lack of communication and honesty. He knows that his mates aren't homophobic people, but, he is afraid of a few judgements being made.
Luke is trapped inside his own little box, bubbling up the thoughts of confessing his feelings for Ashton. However, each time he tries, he ends up creating lies after lies, which the older lad believes.
Will Ashton finally see through Luke's lies, or will he stay oblivious to the fact that Luke is in love with him?
