Cole Barton slept and woke up the next morning as a ghost in Riverside High. Not knowing what killed him, he got quite the shock. Left with only a cryptic note, he does know, however, that he needs to find someone to help him move on to the afterlife. It is a task that is nearly impossible, because no one can hear him. Now, he spends his days throwing pebbles and shouting obscene things at people. Just when he was about to give up, Cole meets someone who can hear him.
"I can't believe I'm talking to an actual ghost," she says, in awe. "I must be nuts or something."
"You make it sound like I'm an endangered species."
