'Don't go looking in wrong places or you'll end up where you don't want to be. You better hope I don't find what I'm looking for. Playing with fire will leave you scarred. Mark my words.' Slamming the locker beside our one, he walked away, leaving me in a daze with the scent of cigarette still lingering in the air. Daniel Rhodes, would have been the classic bad boy of the school with his tall, lean frame with deathly pale skin, hollow eyes and dark black hair that fell above his forehead. But that is, if the school wasn't full of boys like that. His appearances at school were rare but somehow, he seemed to turn up in all the wrong places and went everywhere with a pocket knife on show. Something is going on and I won't stop till I find the connection between him and my murdered brother which I'm pretty sure exists. He thinks he can scare me with a knife? He has no idea that I went through hell and back. It is now a game of hunter and prey. Question is, which one is which?

Complete! "You know I really like you, right?" He was definitely drunk. "You do?" I asked. My voice was supposed to be teasing, but I think it came off as a bit startled. He laughed, "Yeah, why else would I trust you with all my secrets?" -- Betty was many things; a romantic, a fashion designer, a bit more jealous than the average girl, great with a camera, a helpful daughter and a good friend. But she was best known for being nice. And usually, the boy did not want the 'nice' girl. But this summer she was going to prove to Mike, her crush since FOREVER, that nice was enough. She was going to have an amazing summer, a perfect Junior year, and finally have her first kiss. It was a foolproof plan. Moving from her childhood home in Arizona to New Mexico at the start of Junior year was never a part of Betty's plan. But sometimes when parents are involved, plans change. So now the nice girl had to start over at a new school in a new State. And when the (maybe not so bad) bad boy, Eli, gets involved, it might be hard to be known as 'the nice girl'.
