Caine spent most of his near immortal life in study. He was strong inside, and eventually, outside as well. Living this long, he has had his own share of battles both 'emotional' and physical, yet no matter what he did, nothing could phase him anymore, thus leading to his deactivation.
At first he was annoyed, but then intrigued, he had never seen a human before, and assumes that White had been successful after so many attempts to recreate human life. She asked so pleadingly for his assistance, so he could not resist sticking by her side. He knew that it was risky, but he had confidence in his strength. His confidence, however, allowed enough pride to blind him from the reality within his lowly abiotic, mechanical vessel.
