Katherine Pierce and Cassandra Woodhouse have been best friends since the end of the 15th Century. A last-resort attempt at freedom led them to Mystic Falls, Virginia during the civil war. Follow Cassandra as she is forced to reveal her own dark secrets, reunite with two of the most important people of her very long life, and deal with pain, horror, danger, and, most importantly, happiness. After all, You can only run away from your past for so long before it catches up to you and bites you. In some cases, literally.
