"Sir," My Beta Alex started, pulling my attention away from the paperwork I had been pouring over for hours. "I have some new and very important information for you."

I nodded my head once, showing him he could continue. 

"We found her." Alex said, his face not looking nearly as excited as it should have in a time like this.

I shot up from my seat, my eyes wide and my heart pounding. "Are... are you sure?" I asked, the reasonable part of my brain not allowing me to believe what I had heard. 

"Well, we are mostly sure, Alpha. Your blood boiled when she came close to it, but, I suppose that you're the only one who can know for sure."

I smiled brightly as my mind tried to wrap itself around the information it had just received. "Well then, what are we waiting for, Alex? Let's go see her!" I began walking towards my door when Alex grabbed my arm as I tried to pass him.

"Alpha Monroe... sir... Jace." I was shocked to hear him call me by my nickname; I hadn't heard him call me that since we were children. "There's... there's something you should know before you meet her."

I looked at him blankly as my mind automatically went to the worst possible scenario. She was hurt... or worse. She... she had been killed by something before they managed to bring her here. She-
