Dezi Marks is a town renowned journalist, and she's only in high school. She writes for the school paper, finding stories wherever she goes. Her twin brother, Micah, helps her by photographing everything. The small town they live in called Ember Falls has an annual festival that has been a tradition for the past three hundred years. A deadly month-long countdown and then a hunt for the most "dangerous" animals in the region. When Dezi struggles with a story for the festival, a fantastic opportunity arises. An animal cruelty protest on the very first day ON TOP of the mayor's bitch daughter getting denied a speech! What better things to write about? When the protest turns fatal, Dezi starts to suspect weird things are going on in the small town of Ember Falls. Then, her and her brother are attacked in the woods behind their house and all of her suspicions are revealed to be true.

If you hate it and find it ridiculous, that's probably because a ridiculous teenager wrote it, but thanks for giving my old writing a try at all. I promise I write better now.*
