Mason Mitchel glanced unimpressed at the fairly large lake house in front of her.

Stepping towards the window that looked out across the lake she sighed. Mason had always hated the scenic Lake Delton with it's lonley, little lake. It was a place that encouraged her tendency to feel stressed.

Then she saw something out in the distance near the peach trees, or rather someone. It was the skipping figure of Olivia Orlando. Of course, the optimistic hero with a small stature and a bubbly spirit, it made Mason feel ill. Mason gulped, she had seen her, there was no escaping this time.

XXXX

When pessimistic and distant Mason Mitchell and her family head to Lake Delton for Mason's cousin's wedding, she is forced to handle the mosquitos, the wildlife, uncomfortable beds, and worst of all: lake friends, or more so Olivia Orlando; the sweetest and cutest teenager that has a crush on Mason.

His sister Kelis finds someone in need of a roommate so he moves in with the girl and gives her his middle name, Lucas. He quickly becomes addicted to the girl and once he gets one taste he's done for. He warns her about his past, about his name, but she ignores all the red flags, not realizing exactly how intertwined she is with the people from his past. He becomes enamored with her, feels like she was made for him while still battling the demons of his past and soon it all becomes too much for him to handle. He makes a heartbreaking decision, thinking it's what's best for both of them and everything changes.
